Gutter Lining Process
Preparation and safety
We use state-of-the-art Easi-dec
access platforms instead of
scaffolding, saving you time, money,
and hassle. Our fitters set up the
system on arrival and remove it the
same day.
Initial Strip-Down
We carefully lift the first row of roof
tiles, remove any failed aluminium
liners, and take off the face plates
found on square-style concrete
gutters to expose the guttering.
Cutting the Concrete
Using a precision diamond-tipped
blade, we cut away the concrete
gutter blocks. This step is dusty and
noisy, but our team takes every
precaution to avoid any structural
impact on your home.
Installing the Timber
A pressure-treated timber faceplate
is securely fixed to the remaining
concrete. This provides a strong,
level surface for the new installation
and also helps eliminate cold
bridging.
Fitting uPVC Fascia, Soffits & Guttering
We install premium-quality uPVC
fascia, soffit, and guttering
products. All materials come with a 20-year
manufacturer’s guarantee and are
built to resist fading or
discolouration.
Eaves Protection System (EPS)
We fit an EPS tray under the roof
felt, directing water straight into the
new guttering. This protects against
tears in the felt, prevents water
ingress, and improves roof
ventilation.
Joining to Neighbouring Guttering
If you share a downpipe with a
neighbour, we seamlessly connect
your new uPVC system to their
existing concrete gutter using our
skilled, tried-and-tested method.

Guttering Questions
Properties with concrete guttering tend to have been built around the 1950s to 1960s. This means that there has been a fair bit of wear and tear at this point. Over time you will see issues appearing both internally and externally in the form of leaks, damp and mould. Removing or lining them eliminates these issues.
A common myth in the industry that we have seen over the years is that the structure of the property will be affected by the removal of concrete guttering. This is untrue as we do not remove the internal section that supports the roof. We only remove the concrete guttering that you can see externally.
A number of factors can impact this including weather and certain gutters having steel reinforced bars through them - however typically this can be completed in no more than 3 days.
At TJ Concrete Guttering we have state of the art access equipment however there will be situations which require scaffolding. Rest assured we have fantastic relationships up and down the country with scaffolders so it will cause minimal disruption to you.
